Gender and Inclusion

about-img

Gender equality is a crucial aspect of social and economic development. It is fundamental to building an equitable and resilient society and is a key pillar of sustainable development as acknowledged by the United Nations. Empowerment of women contributes not only to their individual growth but also has the potential to accelerate nations towards prosperity, as it contributes to improvements in (among other things) education and health of future generations. Empowering women and creating inclusive environments are therefore not only ethical imperatives but also strategic drivers for the government and for corporates. The growing structural barriers that limit the growth of women and other marginalised communities, has placed inclusion at the core of the global development agenda.

Research consistently shows that gender-diverse and inclusive organisations outperform their peers in innovation, decision-making and financial returns. Furthermore, when women and under-represented groups are given equal access to opportunities, it enhances the overall well-being of societies—improving educational outcomes, health indicators and inter-generational equity. At Thought Arbitrage, we have been focused on examining the factors that influence inclusion, evaluating policy and regulatory landscapes, and studying the role of gender-sensitive leadership, workplace practices and representation. We aim to generate evidence-based insights that help shape inclusive policies, workplace strategies and governance models that empower individuals and create an ecosystem that enables everyone. Our research underscores the belief that promoting gender equity and inclusion is not merely about meeting diversity targets, but about unlocking human potential, promoting innovation and ensuring shared and sustainable growth. Through this lens, we seek to contribute to a future where inclusivity is not an exception, but a norm. Toward this end, Thought Arbitrage also undertakes impact assessments of corporate CSR projects that promote livelihood generation, skill development, education and health of women and children, particularly girl children.
