The ‘Future of Livelihood in India’ is a study being conducted by TARI in collaboration with IIT Delhi and IIM Calcutta. This study aims to identify sectors promising the highest potential to drive both economic and employment growth. It will identify the waves of technological disruptions which can affect Indian sectors and the preparedness of the Indian economy for the same. It will also examine the technologies which have the potential to displace human labour and quantify how fast the changes will come. It shall provide solutions to the most pressing problems of the Indian economy i.e which sectors to focus on and how to train the future workforce of India. We aim to fund the study by a fairly large number of organizations, in order to maintain independence of research.
