TARI is working with Powerlinks Transmission Ltd. (a joint venture of Tata Power Company Limited and Power Grid Corporation of India Limited) to conduct an impact assessment of their CSR projects for the year 2018-19. TARI has adapted the global Social Return on Investment (SROI) methodology, developed by Social Value, UK, to incorporate Indian conditions which factors in variable data quality. The methodology is built around an impact map that captures the relationship between inputs (activities), outputs, outcomes and goals with their respective assumptions and indicators. The purpose is to identify the social value created by each of the projects and create a road-map to drive consistent reporting among the partners and NGOs to whom CSR funds are channeled.
It is clear that good corporate governance makes good sense. The name of the game for a company in the 21st Century will be conform while it performs.
